Intense Feelings Are Like a Dark Cloud

I figured out this morning that since I fractured my left foot in New York City, I have had a series of “I don’t care days”. Too many things, all at once. Fractured left foot (rare fracture, too) Had to pack and move (again) However, I met a financial goal…

Silence is Complicity #SpeakUp

On a Tuesday night on #DeadlineWhitehouse, Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. was a guest. His answer about the topic of the rhetoric of violent threats struck me. I am still thinking about it. “Nicole, we’re not gonna ever change. Until we hold the people we love accountable….People who know better, eat…

Thank you for this read today.

Thank you for this read today. I created an art corner in my home and have yet to sit and doodle. I have some food gifts to make and I keep looking at the ingredients in a box. I have to make changes, I am lost right now. I think in order to cultivate better habits, I am going to have to calendar them!

What Will You Do To Be Happy?

I had breakfast with friends Sunday morning, and our discussion moved to being comfortable alone. That got me to thinking of how I lived pre-covid and now post-covid. I am comfortable being alone but admittedly not, what is the word? Content? Satisfied? Happy? I’m not sure. I think I have mentioned this before, but covid turned me into an introverted extrovert. Therefore, I made a commitment to get out more this summer and live.

Blessing In Disguise #LessStress

I just moved from the west end of Garden City back to the North End. Well, the “near” North End, sort of Sunset neighborhood and Central Foothills neighborhood because I am north of Hill Road. At least that is what Nextdoor is telling me. The blessing in disguise is that…

You’re Not the Boss of Me! #FreedomToChoose

For the record, I am quite capable of making my own very personal decisions. I heed advice from professionals, not lawmakers intoxicated with power. This past week was one of mourning for many women in America. The Roe v. Wade preliminary draft from SCOTUS. Last week many women had to…

We Can No Longer Take Life for Granted #Peace

There has been and continues to be so much drama and stress in our world. The pandemic brought severe illness, deaths, long term effects. And now, inflation which is a result of non-production worldwide for months in the beginning of the covid virus. Everyone wants to blame the wrong party…

Interestingly enough, I hike every morning for at least two miles with my dog, unless the trails are muddy. Today is one of those days and I miss being outside. That being said, my daily hikes are in silence and my thoughts are random, insightful, full of ideas that I sometimes have to write down or dictate. For me, long walks or hikes are my daily dose of gratitude.
